چکیده
Background:Candidemia continue to be a critical challenge in neonatal intensive care units worldwide despite remarkable progress diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Over past few years, there has been progressive mycological shift fromCandidaalbicans non albicans Candida species. Objectives: To identify the epidemiology riskfactors of candidemia NICU tertiary hospital. Material Methods:Blood samples neonates with provisional diagnosis sepsis, routinely received Department Microbiology our institution were screened highlight pattern candida species recovered their antifungal sensitivity. Possible risk factors associated also analyzed. Results: Candidemia was proven 4.33%(N=52) bacteremia 10.50%(N=126)] among twelve hundred from NICU. Clinically significant isolates(N=178), demonstrated41%(N=73) Gram positive isolates,29.8% (N=53) negative isolates 29.22%(N=52) [Candida krusei(N=38, 21.34%); parapsilosis (N=6, 3.37%); tropicalis(N=3, 1.68%); pelliculosa(N=2, 1.1%); lipolytica(N=2, 1.12%); dublinansis, (N=1, 0.56%), preponderance towards late period(p value = 0.045*). 80-100% NAC sensitive amphotericin B except for C. pelliculosa. Ckruseiwas100% resistant fluconazole. Preterm, low birth weight neonates, using antibiotics longer duration, total parenteral nutrition mechanical ventilation factorsfor candidemia. Conclusion:The advent merits attention as they are highly most azoles. Therefore, speciation septicemia is essential institute appropriate therapy.
